The 2017 State of Specialty Pharmacy Report is now available to download for free at CSIgroup.net/Survey.

The annual report is a compilation of survey responses from specialty pharmacy professionals of all levels across all specialties to help discover and identify trends, opinions and predictions for the future of the special pharmacy industry.

Within the 72 page report, readers will find insights and opinions from manufacturers, health systems and traditional specialty pharmacy professionals across the nation. Some of the findings include:

  • 35.7% of the respondents identified large PBM’s and health plans as continuing to drive more patients to one another and fewer in their direction
  • 67.7% of respondents have access to limited distribution drugs (LDDs)
  • 13.3% of respondents say their sales team is just “Average” at winning referrals

What Specialties Use Your Products?

“Specialty pharmacy has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to evolve in new and dynamic ways. Keeping up with and forecasting future change is a key challenge facing industry leaders, and we want to be on the forefront of such market intelligence for the industry,” says President and CEO of CSI Specialty Group Suzette DiMascio, CHE, CMCE, CPC. “Changes to affordability, payor networks, accreditation needs and access to limited distribution drugs all top the list of factors affecting professionals from across the specialty spectrum. With the report, having this knowledge can help shape future strategies and roadmaps for all stakeholders involved. Perhaps best of all, the report provides insight into patient care and challenges; and our hope is that with more education and resources available for the industry, the patient journey will continue to benefit and improve.”

DiMascio will be debuting and presenting the 2017 State of Specialty Pharmacy Report at this year’s Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) conference in Denver, CO on March 27.
